DESCRIPTION
Body & Existence begins in a neutralized state of being — neither body nor Self, just isness. The black costume presents this state. The tape seals the mouth. The lemon, cut into two halves and placed on either side of the body, enacts a disconnection between the body and the Self.
I put lemon drops in my eyes — the most delicate and highly sensitive organ of the body — and the body is allowed to react freely. What becomes visible is the constant, simultaneous shift of power between the body and the Self: the body’s involuntary response pulling one way, the Self’s awareness pulling another.
