DESCRIPTION
Part of the rituals of self series, I Tell U a Story strips language of its communicative function. By replacing intelligible speech with gibberish, the work negates the tongue’s habitual operation — its trained, automatic production of recognizable language — and tests whether feeling, narrative, and meaning can still be transmitted without it. What remains is the body’s raw effort to communicate: tone, rhythm, urgency, gesture — storytelling reduced to its pre-linguistic core.
I gibber & create my own unintelligible language to deny the importance of language itself and convey my comprehensible feelings as a story teller thus negating the habitual function of tongue to speak the same language/s all the time.
