The mixed media sculpture, Sound & Silence belongs to the Silence Series, a series of artworks in various media created in 2010 and after.
DESCRIPTION
Silence gives birth to sound, like a female giving birth to a baby and taking care of it too. I see the random shapes of honey combs as an abdomen of a pregnant woman and observe bee-hive as a space prepared for the bees by themselves to give eggs and hatch them for a very good care of new born bees and this relationship of mother bee and the new born bee is maintained constantly through the process of giving birth frequently such as the relationship between Sound & Silence.
As John Cage has well said, “…no Silence exist which is not impregnated with sound”.
